Task 3: Lesson plan

This week we were asked to create a lesson plan using game-based learning methodology. Although I don't play many games, I do like them, and I believe they can be really useful and helpful for teaching units that can be difficult for our students.

The topic I wanted to cover was irregular verbs, which are usually difficult to learn for our students because they have to memorize a lot of them. The game I proposed to cover this topic is a version of “Ladders and Snakes”. Each student will have a counter and they will move through the board by rolling one die, and when they land in the box, they will have to say the past form, the past participle, and the meaning of the verb. If they get it right, they continue with the turn, if not, it moves to the next player.

I have already tried this game in private lessons and the students not only had fun, but they also learned.
